A little late, but the Emperor controlling the Duke and missing her deeply are BOTH true. Idk which rule book it was, as I was reading the forgotten realms wiki, but mind flayers will get depressed and lonely without the company of thralls. He valued her companionship like a pet, ironically in his eyes trying to get us to become illithid is the most he ever respects us as a creature that view themselves as the supreme beings in the universe

I really really really loved watching this anime. Its one of the best these days (in company of Frieren journeys something) it have his own unique story logic ( i ignore mini logic failure. Just take it. Our brain can handle this) its getting more and more complex and dont deliver the whole context. So every episode is.. Like you are a new member of the group. You getting informations by piece and also food or learning about monsters and the story of the lost members. I watch it several times. I really love it. (also, i have a time for deepdive in iron pans and woks and get a lvl up in cooking. Its motivating) And i agree about the panty views of the dwarf senshi... We cant show other people, animes so easy. They broke the fair moralic laws and rules with their weird se # ual concepts. And this is annoying. And delicious in dungeon have nothings of these problems. I can show this anime to everyone. A good safespace of fantasy until a dragon eats you😂

Cazador was such a hilarious flop for me. He's built up to be a seriously bad dude and given a very serious history of abuse and then you meet him and he's got the voice of a villain from He-Man or G.I. Joe and he says the most cartoonishly bland villain stuff it's like oh, I guess we didn't want to get too real with this one, that could result in opinions. It's like how they introduced an interesting political conflict with the refugees in the third act and then didn't have it matter at all and the game never addresses the underlying complexities of the xenophobia they introduced as fun fantasy worldbuilding. Gotta make sure right wingers still play the game, after all.

Did anyone notice that in the normal playthrough, Orin's room has a dead, pale dragonborn next to her bed? Yup. The Dark Urge exists even in the normal route, and was betrayed by Orin , BUT they died in the process... Makes you wonder if the normal, "Tav" character is dead or unaffiliated in the adventure during the Dark Urge playthrough... 🤔

Damn, I’m gonna have a very hard time roleplaying a character that doesn’t share my own sexuality. Probably shouldn’t have watched this as I now don’t know how to enjoy my durge playthrough. (No, this is not some angry conservative rant about ”everyone being turned gay” or something, it’s just mourning being locked into a sexuality that I cannot roleplay as or relate to in any way). Before anyone brings it up: of course you have to accept lots of backstory when playing dark urge, especially the disgusting acts of his past (like the necro stuff), but all of these can be attributed to the urge, while the Gortash relationship clearly seems to be the actual personality behind dark urge, meaning the same person that we later roleplay as.

You dislike Cazador because of his character, I dislike Cazador because his boss fight sucks. We are not the same. (Cazador's boss fight sucks because he is extremely weak, his stat block is not a good representation of D&D Vampires, and you spend the entire fight just fending off minions.)

Cazador in essence is a pimp and uses the spawn as prostitutes so he can have people to either drink from or use in the ritual. It’s easier to use other people because he is a patriar. It would be suspicious if a bunch of people who come into contact with a rich guy suddenly disappeared. That’s why Cazador has the spawn take people from the lower city and Worms Crossing because it’s assumed people from those areas won’t be missed.

First by attempting to breed Shadow sorcerers by only mating with Sharen males, but Shar started making them sterile to keep Shadow sorcerers out of Lolth's web. So the house ditched Lolth worship and swapped to Kierransalee the drow goddess of undeath to try and earn her favor to get a lich. And thats where they are now. My Drow is the closest to achieving that goal at her matron mothers command. Lich or die trying.

Very early on, Withers gives you what I'd consider a throwaway line in most cases- that stuck with me anyways. Come the end of the game, it reveals itself to actually be a recurring motif, and that is that Mind Flayers don't retain their souls post-transformation, therefore they are not equivalent in value to any one mortal. This is why the Emperor is totally unscathed by sex, a typically passionate encounter (and sold as such prior). Bro literally doesn't have a soul, and is ever-enticed by satiating his base desires with zero care for who he has to use to get them. No soul, no moral basis, only a conniving husk.

I think the rhing of "he was impaled because he failed"- i always interpreted that as Cazador tried to kill Vellioth and failed.

A friend of mine posted osomatsu pictures on her story on instagram and i remembered seeing them around on social media sometimes, and I always thought they looked like noby from doraemon. Then, earlier this year, I watched the first season with captions, and tracked down the english dub on bluray and got into it. And it sucks there's no news of a season 4, nor an english dub of season 3 and the movies. Not to mention the death of billy kametz who voiced osomatsu, so who knows who will voice him in english. And it's also worth mentioning that ray chase who plays karamatsu voiced cyclops for xmen 97, kyle mccarley who voices icchimatsu also voiced tadano from komi can't communicate and mob from mob psycho 100, and michael sinterniklas who voices jyushimatsu was also the voice of 2003 Leonardo, and karino from kotaro lives alone. Honestly after discussing this with some people my interpretation/headcanon of the Emperor's sudden heel-face turn is that once Orpheus was freed, he didn't have the protection from the Absolute and thus got pulled back to its side. But also he left before you even freed Orpheus so...? I feel that could've been an easy patch to that plot hole/weird character switch, if only the Emperor had used that as an argument to the player. Not just "Orpheus won't help you" but "if you free him, he definitely won't protect me who enslaved him and I'll just be enslaved again." Would make a really good character moment where a trusting Tav would feel empathy or a distrusting one could go "lol well you enslaved someone else so this is what you deserve." The ending was really rushed and weirdly implemented especially if you're trying to go for the "no one transforms" ending

1:15:43 you neglected to mention the "if a night of passion is on offer, I can be persuaded..." line, and your character clarifies he means sex. So not really ambiguous, there is the option to bang on his grave. Doesn't mean you have to chose it though, both are perfectly legitimate choices and Astarion is happy with either.

You did forget to mention if you romance Gale god of Ambition he doesnt do you like Mytra did him. Gale ascends you to godhood so you and him can be equals.

Honestly, I wish more people dug deeper into Cazador. It makes Astarion's storyline so much better because it's basically a cycle of abuse. Cazador was once abused and became the abuser. Astarion, depending on your choices, either ends the cycle or continues it. It's brilliant!

Everyone talks about how Ketheric is so tragic but I honestly hate his stupid ass and think Orin is by far the more tragic villain. (Have heard about Gortash's tragic backstory but not actually seen/experienced the ingame lore so can't comment.) Ketheric was a grown ass man who had complete control of his actions at all times. All of the things he did for love were things that his wife/daughter would've absolutely hated, mourned, or been appalled by, which imo shows that Ketheric's actions are less motivated by love and more motivated by a desire to posess his family (mostly his daughter) as people he clenches tightly in his fist to never let go of. He sees entirely in terms of his own grief and how HE feels, never about what their desires are, especially his daughter. If Isobel successfully gets kidnapped, not only is Ketheric evil by ripping Isobel from her charges (people she clearly cared about protecting, or wanting to stop Shar's darkness as a cleric of Selune at least), he also puts A FUCKING MINDFLAYER TADPOLE in her and basically brainwashes her into going "oh thank you father now I understand the error of my ways." At heart Ketheric is a narrow minded, controlling bastard who decides he wants something (even something that could be good, like his family) and will sacrifice everything, even the entire world, just to get what HE wants. Every single decision he made was his choice as a grown ass adult with a wife and a child, raised in privilege and comfort and love with everything he ever wanted. Meanwhile at least Orin was born into a cult and groomed from birth to be crazy and evil. If she has this in common with Durge, she may even be compelled/inclined towards violence by the very nature of being the blood of Bhaal. Not only did she have no choice in where/how/to whom she was born, she may have been cosmically doomed by her very own blood/existence into being evil. There was no way for Orin to become any other person than the monster she is, and that's why I find her infinitely more tragic than Ketheric could ever hope to be. (And yeah, the thing is I normally love sad dads/daddy's girls in fiction, and I was ready to sympathize with Ketheric on that account at least, but the second I saw what he did with his daughter, the full force of my love for daddy-daughter relationships reversed from love into hatred for just how much of a sick fuck you need to be to forcibly kidnap your daughter and brainwash her into loving you bc you're so evil she wants nothing to do with you lmao)

Minthara is an incredibly well written character, and very likeable despite being objectively evil in basically every way. And also hilarious. Everytime you think she is about to say something reasonable she follows it up with something only she could say.
